There are several theories regarding the history and legend of Doujiao Fish Head. 還有一種說法,是清朝的數學家黃宗憲,某日路途中借宿湖南的一處農家中。農夫的妻子用鮮魚煮湯,再將剁好的辣椒與魚肉一起蒸煮。黃宗憲品嚐後感覺特別美味,於是讓自己的廚師試著仿作。剁椒魚頭這道菜就由此傳開了。

While traveling, Huang stayed at a farm in Hunan and the farmer's wife cooked fresh fish soup, which was then steamed with chopped chili and fish meat. Huang found the dish particularly delicious, and asked his chef to replicate it. This is said to be how Doujiao Fish Head became popular.
